} KROQ occurs as commercial rock and roll music radio station in Los Angeles, California, broadcasting on 106.Heptad FM. A call sign is pronounced "kay rock."

A foremost station by owning a call for letters KROQ was formed within 1972, broadcasting on 1500 AM, with the format of Top 40 hits. Inside 1973 KROQ bought the station KPPC 106.7 FM, which got been broadcasting rock and roll since 1968. A FM station became KROQ-FM. Them stations broadcasted monovular programing across 1978, when a AM station was sold.

Inside 1986, KROQ was purchased by Infinity Broadcasting, a subsidiary of Viacom. KROQ plays alternative, new wave, nu metal, and indie artists.

Around 2004, KROQ began broadcasting in High Definition Radio for its higher quality.
